Customer sign-off without paper or handing over the phone.
A signature is what turns a service record into acceptance. In Atus it can be captured on the app screen, in the dashboard, or through a link the customer opens on their own phone — and your company decides when it is required: never, always, or only for the customers who ask for it.
- Technician and customer signatures
- On the app or dashboard screen
- Single-use link, valid for 24 hours
- Required for everyone or only for specific customers
- Supervisor signatures on execution phases
- Printed on the work order report
Three ways to sign, one record
How the signature is captured depends on who is standing at the equipment. All three end in the same place: the signature is attached to the work order, labelled as the technician's or the customer's, and printed on the report.
- On the app screen — the technician or the customer signs with a finger on the phone, even offline.
- In the dashboard — when your company lets the office complete jobs, the signature is captured there, under the same requirements as the field.
- By link — the customer receives a link and signs on their own phone, with no account and nothing to install.
The link that ends “can I borrow your phone?”
Handing the technician's unlocked phone to a customer to sign is awkward and, under many contracts, not allowed. The signature link solves it: the customer opens the address on their own device, sees what they are signing for and signs on their screen.
The link is single-use and valid for 24 hours — long enough for a customer who stepped away mid-visit, short enough that a forwarded link stops working. When the job is run over WhatsApp, the technician's conversation is notified the instant the signature arrives, and completion carries on.
Mandatory only when it has to be
Technician and customer signatures are configured separately, each with three options: never require, require on every work order, or require only on work orders for specific customers. The contract that demands formal acceptance gets it, without slowing down the customers who do not.
The requirement applies on every channel — app, WhatsApp, web completion link and dashboard. A work order that requires a signature cannot be completed without one, whichever way it is closed.
Signatures per stage on long jobs
On work split into phases — mobilization, diagnosis, execution, testing, handover — each stage can capture its own signatures: technician, customer and supervisor. Handing an asset back, for example, closes with the customer's acceptance at that stage, not only at the end of the project.
Recorded on the report and in the history
The signature is stored as a work order attachment and appears on the PDF report next to the photos, the checklist and the parts. The work order history records when it was completed, by whom and through which channel.
On calibration work orders, the signers become part of the participant evidence frozen into the certificate, along with the channel used — an authenticated session or a single-use link.
Signatures captured with no signal
In the app, the signature is captured even offline and kept in the completion draft until the work order is sent. If the phone dies halfway through completing the job, it is restored with the rest of the form — the customer does not have to sign twice.

Example: the contact who had already left
The technician finishes at seven in the evening and the customer's contact has already gone home. Instead of coming back the next day just for a signature, the technician sends the link. The contact opens it on their own phone, sees which work order it is for and signs from wherever they are.
If the job is being run over WhatsApp, the technician's conversation is notified as soon as the signature arrives, and the work order moves on to completion. If the link is not used within 24 hours it expires — and can no longer be reused by anyone it was forwarded to.
